How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    PV Engineer/ Technician – Solar Farm

    Salary: £45,000 – £60,000 per year (DOE)

    Job Type: Full-time, permanent

    Location: Sites across the UK (region-based)

    Schedule: Monday–Friday with a paid weekend rota (approx. 1 in 5 weekends) and occasional overnight stays

    Why this is a great opportunity

    Our client is one of Europe’s leading solar-energy firms, responsible for building, running, and maintaining large-scale solar farms across the UK and further afield.

    With a global track record of over 500 solar projects and more than 5.6 GW of installed capacity worldwide, our client takes a forward-looking approach to renewable energy and invests in its teams.

    Working with them means you contribute directly to the green energy transition in the UK — a meaningful role that helps power communities and supports long-term environmental goals.

    What You’ll Do

    * Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and remedial work on solar PV systems (AC & DC)

    * Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fixes as needed

    * Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, using industry-standard testing equipment (multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, etc.)

    * Produce clear, accurate site reports after each visit via the online reporting system

    * Conduct job-specific risk assessments, report near-misses, and ensure strict health & safety compliance

    * Supervise and coordinate third-party contractors when required

    * Maintain detailed electrical test records, suitable for audits

    * Work occasional nights away or on weekends (with extra pay)

    What They’re Looking For?

    Essential

    * 3+ years’ experience on utility-scale, ground-mounted Solar PV O&M projects

    * Level 3 City & Guilds / NVQ in Electrical Installations

    * C&G 2382-18

    * C&G 2391-52 (or equivalent testing qualification)

    * HV AP qualification

    * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

    * Solid understanding of AC & DC systems and experience using testing tools

    * Full UK driving licence

    Desirable

    * Harness-trained (or willingness to complete training)

    * First Aid and Fire Marshal training

    * IOSH Health & Safety qualification (or willingness to train)

    * Experience with central inverters, SCADA, CCTV or battery-storage integration

    * Familiarity with high-voltage systems (33 kV) and associated switching / maintenance

    Benefits & Perks

    * Bonus up to 12.5% (performance / KPI based)

    * Private pension with employer contributions up to 6%

    * Full private health cover (option to extend to family)

    * Life insurance at 4× annual salary

    * Access to perks via employee benefit platform

    * 33 days’ holiday (including bank holidays)

    * Structured training and career-development opportunities

    * Be part of a meaningful mission — supporting the UK’s shift to renewable energy

    Why would you choose our client?

    By joining them, you become part of an international team that’s shaping the future of energy. With decades of experience, a strong presence in the UK and across Europe, and a commitment to sustainability, you’ll be working for a company that places environmental impact, quality, and teamwork at its core.

    If you’re a hands-on engineer with a passion for clean energy and the skills to match — this is more than a job. It’s a chance to build a career with purpose.

    Not got the utility scale experience?

    No problem - they would consider taking on people with a domestic or commercial solar background and look provide a dedicated training program that actively encourages promotion from within. This would attract a salary in the range of £29,000 to £39,000, dependent on experience
