How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role – Assistant Landscape Architect
    Location – Glasgow

    Salary - £30K

    Our client, a growing environmental consultancy is looking for a Assistant Landscape Architect who is particularly interested in Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment. This role is ideal for someone at the start of their career who wants to build strong technical skills and gain practical project experience.

    This role will give you the chance to work on a really interesting mix of projects across the UK. Typical work includes renewable energy developments such as wind farms and hydro schemes, along with electricity transmission and grid infrastructure projects. There may also be opportunities to contribute to energy storage proposals, marine and coastal work, and occasionally transport or wider infrastructure schemes. It’s a great way to build early career experience while gaining an understanding of how different types of development sit within and affect the landscape.

    ASSISTANT LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT RESPONSIBILITES

    * Helping to prepare Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments

    * Supporting landscape and visual baseline studies

    * Taking part in site visits and surveys

    * Assisting with reports, graphics and project documents

    * Working with mapping and visualisation tools

    * Collaborating with colleagues across different disciplines

    ASSISTANT LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT REQUIREMENTS

    * Degree in Landscape Architecture or similar subject

    * Clear interest in Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment

    * Good written and spoken communication skills

    * Strong attention to detail

    * Basic knowledge of CAD, GIS or visualisation software is helpful but not essential

    * Positive attitude and willingness to learn

    * Full right to work in the UK
