How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    If you’re an electrically biased engineer who enjoys troubleshooting production issues, improving reliability, and supporting complex builds from the shop floor through to engineering teams, this Electrical Production Support Engineer role could be a very good fit.

    This is an Electrical Production Support Engineer opportunity with a specialist engineering manufacturer in Poole producing complex electro-mechanical equipment for demanding applications. They’re known for high engineering standards, reliable products, and a strong pipeline of long-term work.

    They’re growing the Product Support function within Production Engineering and are open to candidates across a range of levels from hands-on support engineers through to more experienced engineers who can take ownership of complex issues and support team direction. The Electrical Production Support Engineer role will work closely with Design, Quality, Supply Chain and Operations to keep assembly moving and improve manufacturing performance.

    The Electrical Production Support Engineer role

    As an Electrical Production Support Engineer, you’ll provide technical support across the production lifecycle, helping resolve electrical/electro-mechanical product and process issues, support build teams, and contribute to continuous improvement.

    Depending on your experience, the Electrical Production Support Engineer role can also involve greater responsibility for complex investigations, stakeholder coordination, and supporting less experienced engineers.

    Day-to-day responsibilities - Electrical Production Support Engineer

    Provide technical support to production/assembly teams on electrical and electro-mechanical build issues
    Investigate product and process problems and support practical resolutions
    Support engineering change activity and technical support documentation
    Work with Design, Quality, Supply Chain and Operations to improve manufacturability and build performance
    Assist with technical analysis and root-cause investigation of recurring issues
    Support supplier discussions around components, sub-assemblies and assembly-related concerns
    Contribute to continuous improvement across quality, cost and delivery
    Represent the team in internal review meetings where required
    Help standardise technical documentation and support processes
    At higher level, support prioritisation of work and guide less experienced engineersWhat they’re looking for - Electrical Production Support Engineer

    Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline), or equivalent practical experience
    Background in product support, manufacturing engineering, production engineering, assembly engineering, or similar
    Experience supporting complex manufacturing/assembly environments
    Strong problem-solving skills and a practical engineering mindset
    CAD confidence (e.g. SolidWorks / CREO) and general engineering software literacy
    Good communication across shop floor teams and wider stakeholders
    Able to work under pressure and manage priorities
