How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    As a Cost Analyst, you will support the costing function by analysing and maintaining cost data across materials, labour, tooling and overheads. You will play a key role in supporting new product quotations, cost comparisons and value engineering initiatives within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Assist with cost calculations and analysis
    Support preparation of cost breakdowns for new product quotations
    Analyse material, labour, tooling and overhead costs
    Maintain and update costing spreadsheets, databases and internal systems
    Compare estimated versus actual production costs and highlight variances
    Support value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives
    Provide target costing data to Product Development teams
    Liaise with Procurement to obtain supplier pricing and cost data
    Assist in preparing reports and presentations for stakeholders
    Contribute to continuous improvement activities focused on cost control and efficiency What We’re Looking For

    Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business (preferred)
    Understanding of costing, finance or data analysis principles
    Interest in manufacturing environments and product costing (e.g. BOMs, inventory)
    Strong Excel skills and ability to work with data sets
    Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and present insights
    Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally All applicants must have the right to work in the UK
