How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Chemistry Teacher – Secondary School

    Location: South Yorkshire
    Contract: Full-time
    Start Date: May Half Term 2026
    Duration: Ongoing / Long-term
    Salary: £170–£220 per day (dependent on experience)

    About the Role

    PK Education are working with a secondary school in South Yorkshire who are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Chemistry Teacher to join their team from May half term. This is a full-time, long-term role, offering an excellent opportunity to join a supportive Science department.

    You will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality Chemistry lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on your experience. The role is suitable for both experienced teachers and ECTs looking to gain valuable classroom experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    Planning and delivering engaging Chemistry lessons across KS3 and KS4. Supporting students in developing a strong understanding of scientific concepts and practical skills. Preparing students for GCSE exams, focusing on knowledge retention and exam technique. Assessing and tracking progress, providing clear and constructive feedback. Maintaining high standards of behaviour and a safe laboratory environment. Contributing to the wider Science department and school community.

    What We’re Looking For

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching experience. Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry. Ability to engage and motivate students across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable). Strong classroom management and organisational skills. A proactive and adaptable approach. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
