How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Registered Manager: Children’s Residential Care
Location: Blackley & Bury, Greater Manchester Starting salary: £55,000 to £65,000 per annum (plus discretionary recognition for top performers) Key Benefits: Pool Car, EAP, Visible Leadership, and a Supportive Path to Dual-Registration
Ready to move from "running a service" to nurturing a community?
At Alpine4Care, we’re looking for a Registered Manager to join our family in Blackley. This is a rare opportunity to lead a settled, successful home while helping us grow our brand-new service in Bury. We aren't looking for a corporate fixer; we’re looking for a warm, knowledgeable leader who wants to help our young people and our team flourish.
    Why join the Alpine4Care family?
    ● A Success Story: Our Blackley home is a solo house where our last young person made such wonderful progress they have already moved into their own shared home and full-time education.
    ● Supportive Leadership: Our RI started as a Support Worker and has 23 years of experience. They understand the industry from the ground up and are there to support you, not just audit you.
    ● True Belonging: You’ll have the freedom to embed your own values and ethos into an already experienced and settled team.
    ● Visible Care: We have a flat structure with an open-door policy. You'll work with directors who are accessible, supportive, and genuinely invested in your well-being.
Ready to join us? Skip to the ‘apply now’ button to start your journey with Alpine4Care.
    Why join Alpine4Care?
We believe that care should be about "standing next to and loving our young people." We aren't a corporate machine; we’re an established provider with three successful homes and a culture built on empathy and reflection. We pride ourselves on high standards, but we also believe in a workplace where you feel safe to be real and true to your own emotions.
As a Registered Manager with us, you’re more than just a name on a registration. You’re joining a leadership team that understands the emotional weight of your role because they’ve been there themselves. We prioritise a "human touch" in everything we do, and we make sure our most dedicated leaders are recognised with generous discretionary rewards.
    About Our Home
Our Blackley home is a freshly decorated end-terrace on a quiet residential street. It’s a peaceful, welcoming space with a large garden where we’re currently planning a new vegetable patch with the young people.
We believe in keeping life active, led by the interests of the children in our care. Whether it’s DJ lessons, horse riding, or guitar practice, we do whatever it takes to help them find their passion. We even take our residents on UK and overseas holidays to create memories that last a lifetime. We’re looking for a Registered Manager who can build this same warmth and vibrancy to our new Bury service as it opens.
    What you'll be doing
You’ll be joining a settled, experienced team including a Deputy, Seniors, and RSWs. Your role is to nurture this team and guide them through the transition of welcoming a new young person into our Blackley home following our last successful placement.
    Your day-to-day will involve:
    ● Compassionate Leadership: Creating a positive, safeguarding-first culture where you act as a supportive role model for both your team and our young people.
    ● Operational Nurturing: Ensuring our home remains a high-quality environment that meets all training and safety standards
    ● Collaborative Liaison: Acting as a professional and diplomatic advocate for our children when working with local authorities and social workers.
    ● Growth & Mentoring: Overseeing the Blackley home while supporting the launch and future dual-registration of our Bury service as a Registered Manager.
    Your Experience and Qualifications
    Essential:
    ● The Background: Proven management experience within residential children’s care.
    ● Technical Skills: Confident using Microsoft packages with a good eye for the financial side of running a home.
    ● Qualifications: You hold a Level 5 Diploma (or you’re currently working towards it with our full support)
    ● The Personality: You’re a warm, proactive team player who can nurture your staff and maintain high aspirations for the children in our care.
    ● Logistics: A full UK Driving Licence is essential.
    Desirable:
    ● A proven track record of Good Ofsted ratings as a manager.
    ● Experience in 2 to 1 or 3 to 1 solo environments.
    ● A supportive understanding of DOLS (Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards).
    Your Package and Perks
    ● Salary: £55,000 to £65,000 per annum.
    ● Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (with flexibility for on-call when needed).
    ● Perks: Access to a pool car, a comprehensive EAP, and a recognition scheme for our top performers.
    Our Interview Process
We want our recruitment process to be as welcoming and transparent as possible:
    1. Apply: Submit your CV for review.
    2. Screening: A friendly call to discuss your experience and our philosophy.
    3. Interview: A face-to-face meeting with our RI and Directors.
    4. Offer: A conditional hiring decision, subject to DBS and reference checks.
    How to Apply
If you're ready to lead with heart and purpose as our next Registered Manager in Blackley and Bury, we'd love to hear from you. Please submit your CV detailing why you're the right fit for the Alpine4Care family.
Alpine4Care is an equal opportunity employer. We're committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children; all appointments are subject to safer recruitment processes.
