How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: South East London
    Company: Aspire People Limited

Aspire People is seeking caring, patient, and proactive SEN Learning Support Assistants to join exceptional ASD-focused schools across South East London. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and additional learning needs in achieving their full potential.

    Key Responsibilities:
    * Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated learning or communication needs.
    * Assist class teachers in delivering personalised learning plans and adapting resources to meet individual needs.
    * Support pupils in developing communication, social, and emotional skills using structured and positive strategies.
    * Encourage independence, resilience, and engagement in learning through consistent support and encouragement.
    * Contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists.
    * Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and safe classroom environment for all students.

    Requirements:
    * Experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs, ideally ASD (in schools, care, or youth settings).
    * Understanding of autism, sensory processing differences, and communication challenges.
    * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, empathetic approach.
    * Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated SEN team.
    * Minimum of GCSEs (A*-C) in English and Maths; additional qualifications in child development or SEN support are desirable.
    * Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

    Benefits:
    * Competitive daily rates of pay.
    * Flexible working options - full-time and part-time positions available.
    * Opportunity to gain specialist experience in autism education.
    * Ongoing training and professional development from Aspire People's dedicated SEN consultants.
    * Clear pathways to permanent employment and career progression within SEN schools.

If you're passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with autism and would thrive in a supportive, inclusive school community, we'd love to hear from you!
