Key Responsibilities of a Marine Design Engineer

Detailed Engineering Design & Documentation

Develop and produce high‑quality engineering drawings, accurate 3D models, and comprehensive technical specifications using advanced CAD tools.
Carry out detailed calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection to ensure robust, safe, and compliant designs.
Lead and contribute to design reviews, ensuring consistent adherence to Belcan's Quality Management System (QMS).

Required Skills & Experience

Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, or related engineering discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
Minimum 5 years' detailed design experience within a marine engineering or defence environment.
Essential: Proven experience working on naval ships or submarine design projects.
Essential: Proficiency with the FORAN CAD system.
Advanced proficiency in CAD software and strong working knowledge of engineering analysis tools (e.g., FEA, tolerance stack-up).
Strong appreciation of environmental impacts and sustainability considerations in engineering activities.
