About the Role
PK Education are working with a secondary school in Barnsley who are seeking a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join their team on a full-time basis. This vacancy has arisen due to a resignation, and there is a strong possibility for the role to be made permanent from September for the successful candidate.
This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with experience working with young people who are looking to gain consistent and valuable classroom experience within a supportive school environment.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the school by delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of teaching staff. You will ensure students remain engaged with their learning while maintaining a positive, structured, and focused classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervising classes across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering pre-set work provided by teaching staff. Managing classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies. Supporting students to stay on task and engaged in their learning. Building positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff. Providing feedback to teaching staff on student behaviour and progress.
What We’re Looking For
Experience working with young people, ideally within a school setting. Confidence in leading a classroom and managing behaviour. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A professional, proactive, and reliable approach. A genuine interest in education and supporting young people. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
