How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Teaching Assistant – Winsford | SEMH Support (2:1 in Classroom)
    Winsford, Cheshire | Part-Time (Afternoons) | Long-Term Role
    Pay: £14.60– £16.15 per hour (DOE)
    Hours: 12:00pm – 3:30pm (Monday to Friday)
    Start Date: 20th April (after Easter)

    About the Sen Teaching Assistant Opportunity
    Astro Education is currently recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a primary school in Winsford on a long-term basis.
    This role involves supporting two pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a classroom setting. The pupils are based in class, and the school is looking for someone who can provide consistent, calm and structured support to help them engage with learning during afternoon sessions.

    About The Sen Teaching Assistant Role
    *
    Provide 2:1 support for pupils with SEMH needs within the classroom
    *
    Support pupils with emotional regulation and engagement in lessons
    *
    Work closely with the class teacher to implement support strategies
    *
    Help maintain a positive, safe and structured learning environment
    *
    Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
    *
    Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff
    Requirements
    *
    Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
    *
    A patient, resilient and empathetic approach
    *
    Strong behaviour management skills
    *
    Ability to build positive relationships and act as a consistent role model
    *
    Experience in education, care, youth work, or similar settings is desirable
    *
    Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

    Eligibility to work in the UK
