    The role

    The role ensures that the TTD directorate is doing things right by focusing on managing and measuring its performance. Overseeing and ensuring clear links to business outcomes and business value. With an ongoing remit to assess whether the TTD directorate is set up optimally to deliver the desired business outcomes.

    This role is part of Technology & Information where you'll help us give colleagues the infrastructure, support and insight they need to be brilliant.

    This post is available for up to six months as a secondment opportunity.

    What you'll achieve

    Accountable for how Transformation, Technology & Data (TTD) is managed across the organisation with a remit that covers Budget Governance, Commercial Management, Resource Governance, Performance Monitoring, Team Engagement and Development and Risk Management.
    Responsible to the CTIO for the central resource planning across TTD aligned to the strategic roadmap; the prioritisation of project and service plans; support for the overall governance of TTD.
    Responsible for developing and managing the supplier strategy, TTD commercial plans and activities, and ongoing vendor relationship management.
    Responsible for the accurate preparation, assessment, planning, measurement and communication for all activities in the TTD directorate.
    Develop and oversee budget for the function - working closely with SMT and Finance to align budgets to business objectives.
    Develop strategic partner and supplier strategy and manage engagement to ensure delivery to contract and inward investment opportunities.
    Governance of resource allocation across Transformation, Technology & Data teams to maximise efficiency and appropriate allocation of resource to capex and opex budgets
    Ensure team capacity and capability is aligned to business strategic roadmap and requirements
    Track strategic and operational performance of the function - scorecard and OKRs
    Communication of plans, regulations and policies to senior stakeholders within the business, in a clear and understandable way. Liaison across the Exec, Leadership and Head of Service communities, and also externally to business owners and stakeholders on TTD governance committees.What you'll bring

    Essential skills

    An effective mix of technical expertise, leadership capabilities and strategic skills including:
    Strategic vision - aligning Transformation, Technology & Data strategies with business objectives, customer and colleague outcomes.
    Technical expertise - an awareness of the technology and data estate within Orbit, and the strategic technology and data roadmap
    Leadership and management - experience of leading teams (direct and matrix), managing complex deliveries and projects, and fostering collaboration
    Change management - adapting to and leading organisational change, with specific focus on Transformation, Technology & Data organisations.
    Financial acumen - managing budgets effectively to optimise business value
    Business acumen - understanding business processes finance and how the delivery of transformational change and technology drives growth and efficiencies
    Data & Analytics - leveraging data for informed decision-making
    Resource planning - overseeing the alignment of Transformation, Technology & Data resource plan to ensure strategic delivery plans are achieved, as well as the directorate maintaining the required resources to assure operational service levels for technology and data.
    Experience of building cross-departmental relationships and effective communication with Exec, Leadership and Heads of Service, as well as the wider teams across the business.
