    Job description

    We are looking for an experienced Site Agent to join our clients delivery team on a water and utilities infrastructure scheme in the Central Belt of Scotland. Working on behalf of Scottish Water or an equivalent regulated client, you will take full responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of site operations — managing people, plant, programme and subcontractors to ensure works are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. A valid Scottish Water DOMS ticket is required for this position.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Take full day-to-day ownership of site operations across water mains, sewers, service connections or associated civil works, ensuring safe systems of work are maintained at all times

    * Manage and direct site supervisors, engineers, directly employed labour and subcontractors across all work fronts

    * Prepare, review and implement RAMS, SSOW, confined space entry procedures, permits to work and site inductions in line with Scottish Water standards and CDM 2015 regulations

    * Monitor progress against the construction programme, identifying risks early and taking proactive steps to keep works on track

    * Manage resources including plant, materials, equipment and labour to maximise productivity and minimise downtime

    * Act as the primary point of contact on site for the client, Scottish Water representatives, local authorities and other stakeholders — maintaining clear and professional communication throughout

    * Manage subcontractor performance including attendance at progress meetings, review of short-term programmes and ensuring compliance with contract requirements

    * Maintain accurate and complete site records including daily diaries, allocation sheets, delivery notes, site instructions and any early warnings or compensation events under the NEC contract

    * Support the commercial team with contract administration, valuations and reporting, ensuring all contractual obligations are met in a timely manner

    * Enforce all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies on site, carrying out regular inspections, audits and toolbox talks

    Essential Requirements

    * Valid Scottish Water DOMS ticket — must be current and in date, no exceptions

    * Proven experience as a Site Agent or Senior Supervisor on water, utilities or civils infrastructure projects

    * Strong knowledge of water industry standards, Scottish Water specifications and relevant HSE guidance

    * Experience managing confined space operations, excavation and reinstatement works in live highway and utility environments

    * Thorough understanding of CDM 2015 regulations and site management best practice

    * Ability to manage and motivate a multidisciplinary site team in a fast-paced environment

    * Competent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and contract documents

    * Full UK driving licence

    Desirable

    * Experience on Scottish Water capital delivery or maintenance frameworks in the Central Belt region

    * SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) — current certificate

    * NEC3 or NEC4 contract administration experience

    * EUSR Water Hygiene certification

    * Temporary Works Coordinator or Designated Manager accreditation

    * HNC, HND or degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline

    About You

    * A strong, confident leader with a hands-on approach and the ability to drive performance on site

    * Excellent communicator — able to engage effectively with clients, regulators, subcontractors and the supply chain

    * Well organised with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple work fronts simultaneously

    * Proactive in identifying problems and finding practical solutions before they impact programme, cost or safety

    * Committed to delivering high-quality work and upholding the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management

    if this role sounds of interest, please apply and one of our team will be in touch
