How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Anderson Knight is recruiting for a leading, nationwide, utilities infrastructure business, providing innovative metering and data service, future-proofed network construction and ownership solutions

    They are looking for a well-established Sales Business Development Manager resource to join their ICP Construction business, experience in the sector is preferable, especially with Industrial and Commercial projects, but not essential. More importantly they are keen to find the right person with a well-established and successful resume in Sales that is willing to take their skills and experience into one of the most exciting industries in the UK and work with an extremely motivated leadership team.

    Our client partner with major energy suppliers and utility constructors to deliver our services to the UK's most prestigious brands and public sector institutions.

    About the role:

    You’ll be given high levels of autonomy in your role and be responsible for:

    •Responsibility for delivery of new business opportunities including the delivery model to support client needs

    • Manage key interactions at all levels with customers and organisations to deliver new business growth in a controlled manner

    •Regularly meet with key stakeholders within each business to ensure the progression of the relationship and to understand and improve interactions across the group.

    •Maintain and develop excellent relationships with the customer, M&E Consultants and the Landowners to the mutual benefit of the business, with a view to securing repeat business

    •Promote, sell, develop and secure opportunities for all products and services, offered, including but not limited to Utilities, ICP Design and Construction for new build Electrical Industrial and Commercial project opportunities.

    •Be the focal point for all key interactions including conference calls, face to face meetings and strategy development

    •Liaise with internal teams to manage and ensure the effective delivery of all key customer interactions. Manage internal and external review meetings to ensure the effective management of and ongoing development of all customer interactions

    •Responsibility for the production of management reports, project trackers etc as required by your interaction with the customer and as instructed/requested by the business

    •Production of any required internal reports to provide the necessary updates to the Head of Sales and to provide evidence of your performance against set objectives, sales targets, budgets etc

    •Regular customer meetings as required to meet the strategic account plan with formal minutes and actions published

    •Comply with, the Company’s quality management system; including quality policies, main aspects, impacts and procedures

    •Attend company training courses as required to ensure your level of competency and development is maintained

    •Liaison with the wider business to ensure opportunities are developed and maximised.

    •Support of the Group in the development of bids and tenders

    About You

    •Relevant Utility sector experience preferable but not essential.

    Proven sales results performance and ability to demonstrate and adapt into a new industry

    •Excellent communication and presentation skills

    •Self-motivated but can equally function as part of a team

    •You possess initiative and excellent problem-solving skills

    •Excellent time management skills, working to deadlines and possessing the ability to prioritise tasks and objectives

    •You can take ownership and project manage specific opportunities preparing the necessary documentation, host conference calls and interact with key project stakeholders

    •You have an intermediary level understanding of Microsoft office and its key components and Sales CRM systems
