    Job description

    Complex Care Support Worker, Guilford, GU1. A compassionate, experienced, and positive Complex Care Support Worker to work alongside a wonderful young woman, 20 years old. £18.25 gph
    * Nearest Station: Guildford
    * Salary/Wage: £18.25 Gross per Hour
    * Driving Requirements: Driver not essential
    * Essential: Complex medical care experience (PEG, administering controlled medication, managing pain levels). Confident assisting with personal care and manual handling. Role open to *female applicants only.
    * Start Date: ASAP
    * Days & Hours: An 8-to-12-hour weekend shift, typically from 09.00 am. Additional block shifts including day and overnight support are available. And additional hours during college holidays also available. Zero hour / bank contract
    * Pets in Home: Yes, a friendly and energetic dog
    * Accommodation Provided: Ensuite accommodation, (if providing overnight support), with sole use of the top floor of the family home, whilst on duty

    About the Client/Child Snap Care has had the pleasure of working with Rosie 20 years old and her family for over 8 years! Rosie enjoys audio books, keeping up with her friends on social media, fashion, make-up, online shopping, going to the movies and spending time in Cornwall in her family holiday home. Rosie has a degenerative condition, requiring 1:1 support, with additional 2-1 support during the day as required, depending on activities and circumstances, as her condition progresses. Rosie is an intelligent young woman; she knows her own mind and can communicate verbally and engage in conversations in a quiet setting. Her condition presents as a physical disability (she is an electric wheelchair user), and it also affects her hearing, eyesight, and speech. She receives most of her nutrition, fluid via her PEG, along with strong pain medication. Rosie attends college weekly during term time and is additionally studying criminology through Open University. She will require support to access learning materials and complete course work.
    The Role at a Glance Rosie’s Complex Care Support Worker will assist and support with her weekend daily tasks, including aspects of personal care, administering feeds, liquids and medication via her PEG, repositioning, manual handling (ceiling track hoists in both her family and holiday home), accessing activities, events, and participating in family life. There will be weekend days when Rosie needs to be kept comfortable at home and her pain levels managed. During these days Rosie likes quiet chats, study or online shopping. During any overnight work shifts Rosie might need help with fixing her blanket/duvet or require support with personal care or repositioning; other nights she will not require any support. On these occasions you will be alerted via an audio monitor and tend to Rosie’s needs as and when required. There will be more detailed information on application.
    This Job Would Suit You must be experienced in complex medical care and manual handling, and able to provide your availability 4 weeks in advance. It is highly desirable that you have a DBS registered on the Update Service and ready to start ASAP.
