How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are the independent charity that loves and looks after six of the most wonderful palaces in the world. The palaces are the setting for the stories that shape us all, and we’re bringing them to people in ways that mean more to them. We want everyone to find themselves in the spaces and stories we share.

Location: Hampton Court Palace with regular working across all HRP sites and some home working
Salary: £46,981 (£37,584.80 for 28.8 hours per week). Please note this salary is subject to the April 2026 pay review.
Days/Hours of work: 28.8 hours over 4 working days

    The role
It is an exciting time to join HRP as we work towards our strategic aim to be a charity for everyone. Central to achieving this is our aspiration ‘to reach every school in the UK.’ A key part of this ambition is to extend our reach and engagement with learners with SEND and teachers working in SEND education settings. We recognise that these audiences are not always able to visit our sites, so along with expanding our onsite provision, we are developing more online resources and engagement opportunities and outreach programmes. Our plans include a SEND outreach programme, engagement with hospital schools, online resources for SEND audiences, growth in onsite provision and improved facilities, particularly at the Tower of London.

This role will sit within the Schools Content team as part of National Programmes and Outreach and in close collaboration with the Palace Programmes team.

As Schools Content Producer (SEND) you will oversee, support, develop and deliver SEND schools programming (onsite, online and offsite). In this role you will ensure projects and programmes are impactful and meet the needs of diverse audiences, including learners with SEND and in hospital schools. Using your expertise in engaging with young people with SEND, you will oversee, support and develop innovative programmes and projects. To do this, you will need to take an audience-focused approach to developing distinctive content that delights, surprises and engages participants. Your work will produce high quality outputs for SEND learners and continue to enhance HRP’s reputation as a sector leader for learning.

    Benefits include:
    • Hybrid working
    • Enhanced holiday entitlement
    • Generous Employers Pension Contributions (up to 11%)
    • Annual Pay reviews & Bonuses
    • Critical Illness Cover & Life Assurance
    • Family friendly policies and benefits
    • Staff discounts and free entry to all palaces

    What we’re looking for
You will have extensive experience developing SEND engagement programmes and in-depth knowledge of accessibility within the heritage sector. You will have experience building effective partnerships with SEND schools and specialists to deliver projects. You will have substantial experience in producing content for young people with additional learning needs and disabilities in an education and/or heritage/cultural setting.

You will have knowledge of the current SEND education landscape, including priorities, pressures and opportunities. You will have significant experience in working with a diversity of young people and a proven passion and talent for engaging them in learning. You will have a demonstrable interest in inclusive histories and representing diverse perspectives in the content you develop.

You will be an innovator who looks for ideas and inspiration beyond their area of expertise when developing ideas and ways of working. You will be an effective advocate for our work and able to inspire a wide range of stakeholders and convince them of its value. You will be highly organised with an ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex projects on time and on budget. You will be able to work independently generating ideas and problem solving as well as proactively contributing to teamwork. You will be able to set objectives and evaluate against them, refining the programmes you work on. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and know how to build and foster relationships.

You’ll be IT literate and a competent user of word, excel and outlook.

    Closing date: 19th April 2026
    Interviews: 1st May 2026

Historic Royal Palaces is an equal opportunities employer and truly values a diverse workforce. Applications are welcome from candidates regardless of their background.

We are also committed to high quality Safeguarding practices and to ensure everyone is kept safe in our palaces. We have procedures in place to ensure this commitment is delivered and will deal firmly and swiftly with anyone representing our charity who does not meet our required standards

You may have experience of the following: SEND Education Producer, Inclusive Learning Producer, SEND Programme Developer, Learning and Engagement Producer, Accessible Learning Specialist, Inclusive Education Content Designer, Heritage Education Producer, Outreach and Engagement Lead, Cultural Learning Producer, SEND Curriculum Developer, Audience Engagement Producer, Special Educational Needs Learning Coordinator, and Accessible Programmes Manager.
