Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to support a primary school in Doncaster with a temporary staffing requirement beginning 20th April 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caretaker or facilities professional looking to contribute to a positive and safe learning environment for young pupils.

Role Overview

You will play a key role in maintaining the school site, ensuring facilities are safe, secure, and well-presented for staff and students. The successful candidate will be dependable, practical, and committed to high standards of site management within a primary school setting.

Working Hours (Term Time Only)

We can offer flexibility with either of the following schedules:

Option 1 - Split Shift

6:30am - 10:30am
2:00pm - 6:00pmOption 2 - Straight Shift

8:00am - 4:00pm (30-minute lunch break)

Contract Details

Potential extension depending on the appointment of a permanent Buildings Officer
Opportunity for temp-to-perm placement for the right candidate

Key Responsibilities

Opening and securing the school premises
General maintenance and minor repairs
Conducting health & safety checks
Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school site
Ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils and staff

Ideal Candidate

Previous caretaker, site assistant, or maintenance experience
Strong practical and problem-solving skills
Good understanding of health & safety procedures
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
