How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Support the management of commercial aspects of the project, including cost planning, estimation, and monitoring.

Prepare and maintain cost reports, forecasts, and risk registers for project teams.

Assist in the review and management of subcontractor and supplier contracts to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Support procurement activities, including tender evaluation and contract documentation.

Provide advice on contract administration, valuations, and change management.

Work closely with project management and engineering teams to help ensure projects are delivered on budget and on schedule.

Maintain awareness of relevant industry regulations, nuclear standards, and safety requirements.

    Candidate Requirements:

Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a consultancy or construction environment.

Understanding of pre- and post-contract commercial management.

Experience delivering projects within infrastructure, engineering, or complex construction environments is advantageous.

Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.

Good commercial awareness and reporting capability.

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.

MRICS or working towards chartership is desirable.

Security cleared or able to obtain security clearance as required for nuclear sector projects.

    What’s on Offer:

Opportunity to join a director-led consultancy with a strong reputation.

Exposure to diverse and technically interesting projects across infrastructure, energy, and coastal development.

Flexible hybrid working, combining remote work, office collaboration, and project site engagement.

A collaborative environment with clear progression opportunities.

    Package & Benefits:

    Up to £55k + package

    Laptop and mobile phone provided

    Private healthcare

Pension contribution starting at 5%, increasing by 1% annually up to 10%

Structured RICS APC training programme with a dedicated counsellor for candidates working towards chartership

Opportunity to work on high-profile projects within a growing consultancy environment
