    About Teach Match Recruitment

At Teach Match Recruitment, we are committed to connecting exceptional school staff with inclusive, forward-thinking educational environments. We specialise in recruiting professionals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with diverse and complex needs. We are currently seeking experienced Pastoral Support Officers to join specialist SEMH schools across South Yorkshire for long-term placements.

    Why Join Teach Match Recruitment?

Specialist Support: Receive guidance from a dedicated recruitment consultant experienced in SEMH and alternative provisions.

Competitive Pay: Daily rates of £90 - £105, dependent on experience and qualifications.

Exclusive Opportunities: Access to unique pastoral and support roles not advertised elsewhere.

Professional Growth: Continuous professional development opportunities tailored to working in SEMH environments.

The Role - Pastoral Support Officer

We are seeking compassionate, resilient, and proactive individuals to support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. As a Pastoral Support Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils' emotional well-being, helping them engage with learning and develop positive behaviours within a nurturing and structured school setting.

    Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group pastoral support to students with SEMH needs.

Build trusting relationships with students, helping them develop strategies to manage emotions and behaviour.

Work closely with teaching staff to maintain a positive learning environment.

Support the implementation of personalised behaviour and intervention plans.

Monitor and report on students' emotional, social, and behavioural development.

Liaise effectively with external agencies, parents/carers, and school leaders to ensure joined-up support.

Uphold safeguarding procedures to promote the safety and welfare of all pupils.

    Ideal Candidate:

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, trauma, or behavioural needs.

A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to managing behaviour.

Ability to form strong, positive relationships with students who may have experienced adversity.

Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques.

Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, Youth Work, Counselling, or similar) are advantageous but not essential.
If you are passionate about supporting young people and creating positive change, we want to hear from you.

Apply now to take the next step in your pastoral care career with Teach Match Recruitment.
