    Job description

We are currently looking for a motivated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Cannock. This is a full-time position starting in April 2026, with the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.

    About the School

This well-regarded primary school in Cannock is known for its inclusive and supportive learning environment. The staff work closely together to foster a positive atmosphere where pupils feel safe, encouraged, and inspired to succeed. The school places a strong emphasis on supporting pupils with additional needs, ensuring each child receives the guidance and resources they need to develop both academically and personally.

    The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils with additional learning needs and helping them access the curriculum effectively.

    Your key responsibilities:

    *

Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs

    *

Assisting the class teacher with the planning and delivery of engaging, differentiated lessons

    *

Modifying learning materials and activities to meet individual learning and behavioural needs

    *

Promoting confidence, independence, and active participation in classroom activities

    *

Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to provide consistent and effective support

    The Ideal Candidate

We are keen to hear from individuals who are passionate about supporting children and making a positive difference in an inclusive school environment.

    *

Graduates or final-year students from any academic discipline are encouraged to apply

    *

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided

    *

A patient, understanding, and resilient approach when supporting pupils with additional needs

    *

Strong communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work well as part of a team

    What the School Offers

    *

A friendly and inclusive school community

    *

Access to ongoing training and professional development opportunities

    *

Valuable hands-on experience within a primary SEN setting

    *

The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in pupils’ learning and development

If you are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and would like to gain rewarding experience in a supportive primary school environment, this role could be an excellent next step in your career in education
