The Role
As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and therapists to support pupils across the school day. Many students require 1:1 or small group support, helping them engage in learning activities, communication development, and daily routines.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND
Supporting learning activities tailored to each child's needs and abilities
Encouraging the development of communication, social skills, and independence
Supporting pupils with sensory activities and structured routines
Assisting with classroom organisation and behaviour support
Working collaboratively with teachers and specialist staff to ensure pupils receive consistent support
The Ideal Candidate
Experience working with children or young people with SEND (autism or learning disabilities is desirable)
A patient, nurturing and compassionate approach
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to follow structured routines and support individual learning needs
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Candidates with backgrounds in education, care, support work, early years, or psychology-related fields are encouraged to apply.
