Long Term Futures are seeking a passionate, caring and resilient SEN Teaching assistant who can provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil, with Autism and Behavioural Needs, in a welcoming primary school in Binley, Coventry. You will be supporting their engagement with learning, and positive behaviour development. This role is offered on a long-term basis with the potential to become permanent.
Key Responsibilities
Providing 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with Autism and Behaviour Needs
Spotting signs of dysregulation and helping the child to manage their emotions
Supporting the pupil to access learning and integration.
Developing a safe and trusting relationship with the pupil.
Encouraging the pupil to build confidence in a comfortable and reassuring environment.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Strong experience working with children Autism and Behaviour Needs.
Understanding of the Key Stage 2 Curriculum
Calm, patient and consistent approach to learning support
Strong relationship-building skills and a positive attitude
Team Teach training or positive handling training is desirable
Encouraging confidence, resilience and positive social interaction
