This role requires strong technical knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems, particularly those operating with ammonia (NH₃), CO₂, and large-scale plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities

Service, maintain, and repair industrial refrigeration systems.
*
Diagnose faults and perform system troubleshooting.
*
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across customer sites.
*
Install and commission refrigeration equipment and associated controls.
*
Work with refrigerants including Ammonia (NH₃), CO₂, and HFC systems.
*
Ensure all work complies with relevant UK safety and environmental regulations.
*
Complete service reports and documentation accurately.
*
Provide technical advice and support to customers.
*
Participate in on-call rota for emergency breakdown response.
Required Qualifications & Experience
*
Proven experience working with industrial refrigeration systems.
*
Recognised refrigeration or engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
*
F-Gas certification (Category 1).
*
Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems highly desirable.
*
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
*
Full UK driving licence.
*
Ability to work independently and manage field-based workloads.
Desirable Skills
*
Experience working in food manufacturing or cold storage environments.
*
Knowledge of PLC-controlled refrigeration systems.
*
Ammonia safety certification (e.g., IOSH or equivalent).
*
CO₂ refrigeration system experience.
*
Health & Safety training (e.g., CSCS, IPAF, PASMA)

£50000.00 - £55000.00 per year
