How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Our client, a specialist in the design and manufacture of advanced composite structures, based in Chippenham, are currently looking for a Project Engineer to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

    advanced composite structures and components. They specialise in lightweighting and efficiency solutions for high-performance industries, including aerospace, automotive, energy and industrial. They are passionate about pushing the boundaries of composites technology and delivering cutting-edge solutions to their clients.

    Job Summary:
    They are seeking a motivated and dynamic Project Engineer to join the team and help to deliver their early stage R&D projects. You will be responsible for the design, development and project management of innovative and challenging advanced composite products and processes for high profile customers across the performance automotive and aerospace industries. You will be working with thier consortium partners to develop technology that enables the end users to meet their technical and commercial requirements.

    This means a mix of desk based work and hands-on practical work as well as managing team members, resources and suppliers to deliver the R&D work within these projects, having a direct impact on the future growth potential of the business by developing our next generation of products.
    You should be a highly capable individual with excellent attention to detail, methodical approach, a good Engineering background with a sound understanding and ability to apply fundamental Engineering first-principles, and a desire to deliver the best possible solution at all times.
    You will be responsible for liaising with all key internal and external stakeholders in the
    business, including customers and suppliers, to ensure that these products are manufactured and delivered to the customer’s requirements, often in challenging timeframes.

    Key Responsibilities
    ● Developing new designs and realising customer’s requirements, working closely with the Engineering, Quality and Production teams.
    ● Develop tooling designs, technical drawings and process instructions for manufacturing and inspection.
    ● Working with R&D technicians to experiment and develop new products and processes.
    ● Customer and supplier liaison, and supporting with customer RFQ and technical queries.
    ● Support the implementation of process instructions and quality alerts where appropriate.
    ● Ensure existing products are managed, issues identified, promptly addressed and
    continuously improved.
    ● Ensure R&D traceability, keeping good records of trials and lessons learned.
    ● Assisting with the ongoing technical development of new technology, material
    development and manufacturing processes within the company.
