How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and passionate SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teacher to join one of our client supportive secondary school in Telford. The school is committed to providing a nurturing environment for pupils with SEMH needs, ensuring that each child is empowered to reach their full potential.

    This is a full-time, long-term role with the potential to become permanent, depending on performance and school needs. As an SEMH Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the educational and personal development of students who require additional support in their learning journey.

    Key Responsibilities:
    - Delivering high-quality lessons to secondary-aged students with SEMH needs.
    - Developing and implementing tailored learning plans to support individual student progress.
    - Building positive, trusting relationships with students to promote engagement, self-esteem, and emotional well-being.
    - Managing classroom behavior effectively and providing a safe, inclusive learning environment.
    - Collaborating with other staff members, including teaching assistants, SENCO, and pastoral care teams.
    - Working closely with parents/carers to monitor and improve students' social, emotional, and academic development.
    - Keeping accurate records of student progress and contributing to reports and assessments.
    - Supporting the school's wider SEMH strategy and contributing to whole-school initiatives.

    The Ideal Candidate:
    - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
    - Experience teaching students with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviors is highly desirable.
    - Strong understanding of SEMH needs and proven strategies for supporting students with emotional and behavioral difficulties.
    - Excellent classroom management skills and a calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
    - Ability to build rapport with students and staff, and work as part of a collaborative team.
    - Passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young people.
