    Band 6 Biomedical Scientist – Biochemistry


    Location: Clydebank, South Scotland (G81 4HX)

    Contract: ASAP to 26 April 2026 (Minimum 3 months)

    Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

    Band: 6

    IR35 Status: Inside IR35


    The Opportunity

    We are recruiting an experienced Band 6 Biomedical Scientist in Biochemistry to join a busy and well established laboratory team within NHS Golden Jubilee.

    Following a short settling in period working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, the successful candidate will move onto the full 24/7 rota including night shifts and weekends. The role includes lone working, therefore strong prior Biochemistry experience at Band 6 level is essential.


    Key Responsibilities

    Perform and validate a broad range of clinical biochemistry assays

    Operate, maintain and troubleshoot automated analysers

    Ensure compliance with UKAS and laboratory quality standards

    Participate in night shifts, weekends and lone working duties

    Maintain high standards of accuracy and turnaround times


    Essential Requirements

    HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist

    Significant post registration experience in Biochemistry

    Minimum 6 months to 1 year UK laboratory experience is essential

    Ability to work independently within a 24/7 service

    Strong knowledge of laboratory quality assurance processes
