Junior Buyer – Private Label Food

Salary £30,000 - £35,000
I am currently recruiting for a Junior Buyer to join a well-established and successful UK Food retailer based within their Midlands head office on the Private Label Food department. You will be responsible for supporting the Buying Team to ensure continued growth within the category. As a Junior Buyer you will be assisting with completing tenders and contract reviews, you will need to be driven and dynamic and thrive working in a fast-paced retail environment.
Some of your responsibilities will include.
- Providing support to the Buying department
- Support the preparation and execution of tender processes
- Collating and inputting supplier information
- Analyse supplier submission packs including detailed costings.
- Assist with negotiating pricing, payment terms, rebates and SLAs
- Work cross functionally with Technical, Supply Chain & Finance to ensure departmental relationships are maintained.
- Review and maintain contract tracking, pricing & analysing figures within Excel
Key requirement for the role;
- Experience of Buying within a retail / FMCG environment desirable
- Highly accurate with a good attention to detail
- Ability to manage a varied workload with conflicting deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels.
- Good level of education – degree is preferable.
- Excellent understanding of all MS Office products specifically Excel
