Project Planner – Onshore Renewables
An opportunity has arisen to join an Onshore Renewables team delivering projects that support the transition to a net zero energy system. The Project Planner will provide planning and scheduling expertise across a portfolio of Transmission & Distribution Projects.
The role involves the use of Primavera P6 to develop and maintain robust, construction-focused schedules, supporting safe, efficient, and timely project delivery. Working closely with Project Managers, Project Services, Capital Projects teams, and wider stakeholders, the Project Planner will contribute to data-driven decision making and performance management across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules in Primavera P6 across all phases of the project lifecycle, from early development through construction and operation
- Work collaboratively with engineering, procurement, and site construction teams to produce realistic, logic-driven programmes aligned with site sequencing and delivery constraints
- Identify, analyse, and monitor critical paths, delays, and schedule risks, supporting the development of effective mitigation strategies
- Undertake delay analysis and assess the time impact of change events, variations, and contractor claims in accordance with NEC3/NEC4 contractual requirements
- Produce clear, concise planning reports to track progress, support performance management, and inform key project decisions
Experience and Skills Required
- Proven experience in project planning and scheduling on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
- Experience within renewable energy, power, or civil engineering sectors is advantageous
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site execution
- Demonstrated capability using Primavera P6 to build and manage complex, logic-linked construction programmes
- Practical experience working under NEC3/NEC4 contracts, including change control and delay assessment
- A clear track record of supporting complex projects, with defined roles, responsibilities, and delivery outcomes
