    Job description

    The Role

This position sits within the manufacturing quality function and is responsible for verifying the accuracy and consistency of precision-engineered components produced both in-house and by external suppliers. The role plays a key part in maintaining high manufacturing standards by ensuring components meet specification before progressing through the production process.

You’ll work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to support robust quality control and continuous improvement across operations.

    This is a late shift.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    • Carry out detailed inspections on machined components at various stages of production, including initial setups, final outputs, and parts sent for subcontract processing.
    • Confirm all components conform to technical drawings, specifications, and tolerance requirements.
    • Review and verify that the latest engineering revisions are being used, escalating discrepancies where necessary.
    • Perform routine in-process checks to ensure inspection records and operator documentation are completed accurately.
    • Support the management and upkeep of inspection tools and measurement equipment, ensuring calibration schedules are maintained.
    • Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to manage outsourced processes and confirm returned components meet quality standards.
    • Work in accordance with established quality management systems, including ISO standards and internal procedures.
    • Promote and adhere to all company policies relating to health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

    Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Strong background in inspection and quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.

Confident using a wide range of inspection equipment, including micrometers, verniers, gauges, and portable measurement systems.

Previous exposure to CNC machining or precision engineering environments is highly desirable.

Ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and manufacturing documentation.

Comfortable using computer systems for recording and reporting inspection data.

    Salary

£25,000 – £32,000 per annum, depending on experience.
