The Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians is recruiting a Portfolio Pathway Transformation Manager to lead the operational delivery, transformation and continuous improvement of the Portfolio Pathway service within the Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board (JRCPTB). This is a 12-month fixed-term role providing leadership during a period of significant organisational change, with a strong focus on service improvement, operational resilience, performance management, technology and data-led working. Portfolio Pathway is a key route to specialist registration, enabling experienced doctors to demonstrate that they have achieved the standards required for entry to the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register.

The postholder will lead a team of administrators and work with medical leaders, Specialty Advisory Committees (SACs), clinical assessors, the General Medical Council (GMC) and colleagues across the Federation. * Develop and deliver an agreed transformation plan with measurable improvements in performance, efficiency, resilience, management information and stakeholder experience.
* Review the end-to-end service and use data and stakeholder insight to identify root causes of delay, inefficiency and service risk.
* Improve performance against contractual and regulatory timeframes, service standards and key performance indicators, addressing risks and backlogs within JRCPTB’s control.
* Work collaboratively with internal teams and key stakeholders including SACs and the GMC.
* Drive the effective use of technology, automation, artificial intelligence and business intelligence to improve workflows, reporting and decision making.
* Review and strengthen arrangements for the clinical assessor workforce, including recruitment, capacity, deployment and utilisation.
* Provide clear, supportive line management and development for the Portfolio Pathway team.
* Build effective relationships with medical leaders, SACs, clinical assessors, the GMC and other stakeholders, producing robust reports, analysis and recommendations for senior audiences.
