For a modern supplier of packaging and labeling machinery, we are looking for a hands-on service engineer. In this role, you will work at various customer locations and help ensure that production lines keep running smoothly.
Most customers are located in the Rotterdam, Amsterdam, and The Hague region, so you will regularly travel between different sites. The role
As a service engineer, you are responsible for maintaining, installing, and optimizing packaging and labeling machinery at customer locations.
You will work independently on-site while staying in close contact with the internal service team. Because many customers operate continuous production processes, your work plays an essential role in keeping their operations reliable and efficient.
Your main responsibilities include
- Installing, assembling, and commissioning packaging and labeling machinery
- Performing preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical components
- Troubleshooting and resolving machine malfunctions on-site
- Analyzing technical issues and implementing effective solutions
- Performing machine adjustments, upgrades, and performance improvements
- Supporting and advising operators and technical staff at customer sites
- Documenting service activities and technical findings
You will work with different machines in various production environments, making this a varied and technically challenging role.
Your background
- Technical education in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or similar
- A few years of experience in maintenance, service, or mechanical work
- Experience with industrial machinery, production equipment, or vehicles is a strong advantage
- Hands-on troubleshooting mindset
- Ability to read electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings
- Willingness to travel to different customer locations
- Comfortable staying in hotels when necessary (fully covered by the company)
- Good command of English; Dutch is a plus or willingness to learn
- Valid category B driver’s license
- VCA certificate or willingness to obtain one
