Department Manager, Retail Operations

• Minimum 3 years of experience in retail, operations, logistics, merchandising, home furnishings, or a related customer-focused environment, with proven experience leading, coaching, developing, and managing team performance.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, commerciality, and delivering an exceptional customer shopping experience.
• Knowledge of furniture, home furnishing products, product quality standards, and sustainability principles.
• Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience identifying opportunities to improve processes and business performance.
• Proven ability to develop and execute action plans that drive operational excellence and business results.
• Cost-conscious mindset with a focus on efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement.
• Experience collaborating across multiple business functions to achieve common goals.
• Passion for leading people, developing talent, and fostering a high-performing team culture.

• Lead, coach, and inspire co-workers to deliver an outstanding customer experience and achieve business objectives.
• Ensure the department is fully stocked, commercially attractive, and presented according to IKEA standards.
• Maintain the right level of competent co-workers in the right locations to meet customer and operational needs.
• Share knowledge of the IKEA product range, quality standards, and sustainability initiatives to build team competence and confidence.
• Set, communicate, and follow up on individual and team goals, providing ongoing coaching and development.
• Analyze sales, operational performance, and customer insights to identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement action plans to improve processes, increase efficiency, and optimize business performance.
• Partner with key stakeholders across Sales, Commercial, Logistics, and Customer Experience to ensure seamless operations.
• Continuously review and refine operational processes, identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve productivity.
• Demonstrate agility by balancing commercial opportunities and operational priorities across multiple areas of the business.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration while ensuring a safe and sustainable working environment.
