Business Intelligence Consultant

Join us as a Business Intelligence Consultant at Vopak! In this role you will help Vopak become a data‑driven, digital organization by developing and improving data and analytics solutions that support the energy transition and operational efficiency.

• Identify and develop new data & analytics solutions and improve existing ones.
• Translate business requirements into data‑driven solutions by analysing and modelling data and creating appealing visualisations.
• Create data models and data‑pipeline specifications and ensure compliance with data‑governance requirements.
• Ensure data products are findable, accessible, interoperable and well described.
• Work with Data Architects to model data and with Data Engineers to build pipelines.
• Develop trustworthy, user‑friendly data visualisations.
• Establish and monitor processes that guarantee data products meet consumer and SLA requirements.
• Respond promptly to incidents and problems to restore operations within service levels.
• Estimate effort and time required to develop user stories and support sprint planning.
• Perform peer reviews on data models and visualisations created by other BI Consultants.
• Optimise the usage of data & analytics solutions.

• Bachelor/Master degree in Business Informatics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Information Systems or another quantitative field.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Excellent influencing, written and spoken English communication skills.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake), data integration (dbt Cloud) and data visualisation tooling (Qlik Cloud).
• Experience with agile scrum methodology.
• Proficiency with SQL.
• Strong teamwork, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Demonstrated passion for discovering and solving business problems.

• Gross salary between €65,000 and €95,000, based on experience, knowledge and seniority.
• 30 vacation days, with the option to purchase 10 additional days.
