Job PurposeThis position sits in our Zurich-based Experience & Engineering business unit. We deliver many services, from strategy and a performance‑driven full‑funnel approach to campaigning, e‑commerce, data & analytics, and content, and we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional and engaging digital experiences.
What you’ll do- Drive creativity and deliver excellence: As a lead designer for key accounts, set the standard for design quality and ensure that every project is visually appealing, strategically sound, delivered on time, and within budget.
- Empower people: Manage and mentor a talented team of visual designers (from Junior to Senior), conduct regular 1‑on‑1s, and foster an environment of growth, experimentation, and thriving.
- Winning hearts and minds: Lead the design part of pitches to secure new business in Switzerland, the DACH region and EMEA, represent DEPT at chemistry meetings, facilitate client workshops, and present bold concepts with confidence.
- Strategic collaboration: Work closely with the head of the design department and other leaders to improve our capabilities and processes.
- A proven track record: An impressive portfolio showcasing sophisticated experience design and a deep understanding of digital platforms, ideally gained within a fast‑paced agency environment.
- Leadership skills: Ability to give constructive feedback and help others grow. First experience in leading a team is a plus.
- Design system nerd: Expert in building and maintaining scalable design systems that bridge aesthetics and functionality.
- Accessibility mindset: Digital accessibility (WCAG) is part of your DNA; balance aesthetics with usability.
- Collaborative spirit: Enjoy working in cross‑functional teams, speaking the language of UX designers, copywriters, and developers.
- Modern toolstack: Mastery of Figma is a must; experience with motion design and prototyping tools like Framer or Jitter is a massive plus.
- Industry pulse: Curiosity about digital trends, AI, new technologies, and design trends, and commitment to incorporating relevant innovations.
- Communication skills: Fluent in Swiss German and English, can communicate complex design concepts to executive‑level clients and engineers.
- The “plus” factor: Experience in Brand Design is an advantage, helping create cohesive experiences from identity to interface.
