We’re hiring a General Manager – X‑Ray Elemental & Structural SolutionsLocation - Almelo, Netherlands - must be on site each weekAt Malvern Panalytical, we are seeking a General Manager to lead our global X‑Ray Elemental & Structural Solutions product line.This is a senior leadership role reporting into the President, with full accountability for product strategy, portfolio evolution, and business performance. Operating as the single point of accountability for the product line, this role brings together Product Management and R&D to translate customer needs into differentiated, high‑value solutions that drive sustained growth.What you will doDefine and deliver the end‑to‑end product line strategy, aligned to Malvern Panalytical and Spectris prioritiesLead Product Management and R&D, shaping a balanced portfolio of platforms, next‑generation products, and lifecycle investmentsBuild a deep understanding of customer needs and market dynamics, translating insights into clear product strategies and innovation prioritiesOwn the product portfolio from concept through to end‑of‑life, ensuring the right investment choices across short‑ and long‑term horizonsLead pricing, value proposition, and market positioning, in close partnership with Commercial teamsDrive disciplined portfolio and investment management, ensuring strong returns on R&D spend and clear prioritisationPartner cross‑functionally to ensure effective execution and delivery while maintaining focus on product strategy and customer value creationOwn the product line P&L, including growth, profitability, and long‑term value creationWhat success looks like:Within the first 12–18 months, you will have:Established a clear, customer‑back product strategy and roadmap, aligned across Product Management and R&DBrought focus and transparency to the portfolio, with explicit prioritisation and trade‑offsStrengthened product management discipline, with a sharper voice of customer and clearer value propositionsDelivered measurable improvements in time‑to‑market and portfolio executionBuilt a strong, aligned operating rhythm between Product Management, R&D, and Commercial teamsImproved visibility and outcomes from portfolio investments and R&D spendBecome a recognised enterprise leader, known for clarity, focus, and deliveryWho we’re looking for:A proven General Manager, Product Leader, or senior business leader from analytical instrumentation, diagnostics, or with extensive experience in Life SciencesDeep experience in product management and portfolio leadership, with strong exposure to R&D organisationsA track record of translating customer and market insight into successful product strategiesStrong commercial and financial acumen, with ownership of P&L and investment decisionsExperience leading global, multi‑site teams in a matrixed environmentAn advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related discipline (MBA valued)Why this role mattersThis role is central to how we define, build, and evolve our product portfolio, ensuring that innovation is tightly aligned to customer needs and commercial outcomes.You will play a key role in shaping how Malvern Panalytical continues to deliver differentiated, high‑impact solutions in a competitive global market.#LI-SJ1About us - Malvern Panalytical, Micromeritics and SciAps.Together we are a powerful and highly complementary combination of market leading technologies.We are the toolmakers for the world's most innovative companies, academic institutions, and government laboratories.
