One of our partners, Thales, is seeking a Product Owner BI to join the BIA team in Hengelo for a six-month assignment.
As the Product Owner for the BIA-team you are the connection between several business- and group stakeholders and your team. You work together to maintain, improve and deliver different kind of BI solutions and data analytics. You are responsible for what, why, and in what order something is done by the BIA-team to standardize, modernize and digitalize our BI reporting and data warehousing landscape.
Your typical day starts with a brief standup with the team in which you update each other and define actions. During standups team members discuss what went well, what could be improved and where they still need help. Afterwards, take your time with a cup of coffee to work on some e-mails and questions. You will meet with different stakeholders to discuss changes. Then, it is time to work on the roadmap and priorise the backlog within the BI domain. You will work closely with the EIM Manager, Data Governance Managers and the Data Architect.
Your contribution to the team:- Work closely together with stakeholders and understand their use cases and functional requirements.
- Create a clear roadmap that is sustainable and aligned with the business.
- Create and manage a well‑defined backlog for the team that has a balance between business demand, enablers and continuous improvement together with the Product Manager.
- Prioritise on business value.
- Create product visions.
- Create synergy between the products and standardise as much as possible.
- Work closely together with Thales Group, IS/IT teams to manage dependencies and learn from each other.
- Deliver business results and customer value.
- Translate the voice and needs of customer into user stories, engaging users as needed.
- Engage in continuous discovery (e.g., via surveys & interview) to understand customer needs.
- Prioritise work through a well‑organised backlog of user stories and clearly communicate what needs to be done and by when.
- Define and clearly communicate acceptance criteria for output based on business & customer needs.
- Support and enable the team to get its work done.
- Work closely with the Product Manager to understand and drive alignment on the BI business strategy, goals, and objectives.
- Share information about the BI output and priorities with other Product Owners to ensure alignment across the organisation.
- Has at least 10 years of working experience within a large / complex organisation.
- Has extensive experience with agile working and fulfilling the role of Product Owner; certification is a plus.
- Has excellent communication skills and organisational sensitivity.
- Is enthusiastic, driven and has the power of persuasion and knows how to use this in communication with stakeholders.
- Is a team player that will work well in a cross‑functional team environment.
- Is flexible, stress‑resistant and organisationally strong.
- Has Product Owner experience in the domain of Data Management, Business Intelligence, Digital or equivalent.
