You will join a multidisciplinary site-based project team focused on delivering a high-quality, technically complex cold storage facility. The project operates under a structured safety programme and places strong emphasis on digital workflows and stakeholder collaboration. The HSE Specialist plays a strategic and operational role within the team, reporting directly to the on-site Project Manager and functionally to the Process Director.
Responsibilities- Lead and embed the project’s safety programme across the construction site.
- Manage Permit-to-Work processes for high-risk tasks (working at height, lifting, hot works, etc.).
- Organise Daily Activity Briefings (DABs), toolbox talks, and onboarding inductions.
- Perform daily safety inspections and audits using a digital construction platform.
- Monitor environmental risks including waste, noise, dust, and emissions.
- Investigate incidents, ensure root cause analysis, and manage follow-up actions.
- Act as the key contact for client and regulatory HSE representatives.
- Promote site-wide HSE awareness through coaching, consistency, and engagement.
- Track subcontractor HSE performance and ensure alignment with site standards.

As HSE Specialist, you are responsible for ensuring the site meets all legal, client, and internal HSE requirements. You will coordinate with subcontractors, oversee safety inductions and permits, and lead the implementation of a proactive safety culture. This includes daily briefings, inspections, audits, environmental compliance monitoring, and incident investigations. You will also use digital platforms to track, report, and manage all HSE activities in real-time.
