We are currently hiring a BI Specialist / Data Analyst to be based in Amsterdam. In this role, you will translate complex data into actionable business insights that drive strategic decision-making across the organisation. You'll design, develop, and maintain reporting solutions and dashboards, working closely with stakeholders across departments to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and relevance. You act as the bridge between data and actionable insights — based in Amsterdam in hybrid setup (3 days in office, 2 days remote).
Responsibilities- Design, develop and maintain BI dashboards, reports and data models in Power BI, connecting to data in Databricks.
- Translate business requirements into analytical solutions and data products.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency and governance across all reporting layers.
- Act as a trusted data advisor to business stakeholders across departments.
- Collect, clean and transform data from multiple sources using SQL and ETL tools.
- Build and maintain automated reports and interactive dashboards for management and operational teams.
- Conduct ad-hoc data analyses to support business questions and strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with IT and data engineering on data warehouse and pipeline improvements.
- Document data definitions, logic and methodologies to support data literacy across the organisation.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Business Intelligence, Information Management, Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in a BI or data analyst role, ideally within a SaaS/tech organisation.
- Advanced Power BI skills, including DAX, data modelling and report design.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehousing concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to turn raw data into business‑ready insights and communicate findings to non‑technical audiences.
- Proven track record of building dashboards and data models used in production.
- Experience working with cross‑functional stakeholders and translating business needs into data requirements.
- English — professional working proficiency (required). Dutch — advantageous but not mandatory.
- Microsoft Power BI certification (PL-300).
- Experience working with Databricks as a data platform.
- Analytical mindset: You approach problems with structure and attention to detail, turning ambiguous data challenges into clear, actionable conclusions.
