You are the technical backbone of HV cable jointing operations, in the lab and in the field. You lead a team of jointers, coordinate high-voltage cable installations and testing up to 500 kV, and ensure every jointing activity meets the highest standards of quality and safety. This role sits at the intersection of hands-on execution, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration with R&D and Project Management.
Tasks
- Lead and coordinate a team of jointers across laboratory operations, field execution, and technical interfaces (R&D, Project Management)
- Oversee preparation, installation, and testing of HV cables and accessories up to 500 kV
- Monitor and supervise jointing activities at external laboratories and client sites internationally
- Supervise cable system installations on-site, ensuring technical compliance and quality standards
- Support laboratory setup, commissioning, and operational readiness
- Train, develop, and mentor jointers, transferring technical expertise systematically
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and internal procedures
- Drive continuous improvement of jointing methods, processes, and documentation
Requirements
- Technical education in electrical engineering, network engineering, mechanics, or metalworking
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in HV cable jointing and accessories, field and/or laboratory environment
- Proven track record in supervising field operations or construction sites in an HV context
- Background in HV testing (Resonance, Partial Discharge, Outer Sheath, Impedance, Contact Resistance) is a strong advantage
- Experience in R&D environments or product development for HV accessories is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate technical teams in international, multicultural settings
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a high degree of autonomy
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally (20–30%)
- Fluent English required — German and/or other languages are an asset
