The OpportunityThis is a pivotal leadership position with genuine scope and visibility. You will own the data strategy end‑to‑end, driving the roadmap across Data Science, Business Intelligence, and Data Engineering. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across marketing, product, and operations – and you will be expected to build, not just manage.

What You Will Do- Define and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with commercial objectives
- Lead and grow a multi‑disciplinary team spanning Data Science, BI, and Data Engineering
- Oversee data infrastructure, including OLAP systems and columnar databases
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across all platforms and pipelines
- Develop and maintain KPIs for marketing operations and billing systems
- Apply statistical methods and machine learning techniques to drive campaign performance
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to translate data into clear, actionable insight
- Build a culture of intellectual curiosity, rigour, and continuous improvement
- Identify and attract strong data talent as the team scales
- Stay ahead of emerging trends across data science, BI tooling, and engineering practices
- Proven leadership experience within a data science, BI, or data engineering function
- Strong background in internet or performance marketing – you understand the metrics that matter
- Deep expertise in OLAP, statistics, and applied machine learning
- Advanced SQL skills and hands‑on experience with columnar databases such as Redshift
- Practical Python ability across data analysis, ML workflows, and engineering tasks (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy)
- Experience with data visualisation in JavaScript, including frameworks such as D3.js or Plotly.js
- A natural leader who develops people as well as projects
- Clear communicator who can translate complexity into business language
- Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline – Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or similar
