In the role of Feedstock Procurement Buyer & Chartering you will support the Director Feedstock to develop long- & medium-term strategies to minimize feedstock cost and optimize feedslate for our steam crackers, identifying short-term market opportunities including FOB purchases requiring vessel chartering. You’ll negotiate and manage short commercial arrangements for all feedstock supplies and streams coming from, and going to adjacent refineries, as well as spot markets. You ensure that these give NewCo flexible, reliable, timely, and economic feedstocks which contribute to maintaining or improving the cracker margins. You drive for lowest cost of feedstock whilst delivering highest value for products.
You will nominate and execute on contracts on a monthly and yearly basis and monitor contract performance, and are responsible for cross-functional staff communication with planning, technology, supply logistics, credit, finance, supply accounting, and cracker optimization in a dynamic real-time market environment. You work closely with the Manufacturing organization to ensure optimal feeds at all times. You must be able to adjust strategies and tactics reflecting changing manufacturing and market condition and be able to charter vessels and understand dynamics of the Marine market. Responsible to oversee the voyage charter and check vessel performance, including claims.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities- Responsible for and owner of spot contracts for feedstocks supplies, streams coming and going to adjacent refineries. Monitor performance and effectiveness of activities against targets and take action as required.
- Ensuring sufficient feedstock at all times taking into account working capital requirements.
- Expand the supply portfolio by adding new sources, feedstock qualities and suppliers.
- Responsible for understanding global feedstock market fundamentals, regional interactions, relationships with futures markets, and cross product interdependencies. Responsible for effective communication to senior management. Understands enterprise future feedstock requirements including business scenarios which may lead to revisions, inventory requirements, impact on working capital, price trends and market shifts.
- Responsible for developing naphtha and propane price forecasts used as input for global optimization and business cases.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier/customer relationships and represent NewCo in appropriate industry environments.
- Work closely together with back‑offices in Rotterdam as well as on the cracker sites to drive efficient and effective processes and to drive alignment and standardization.
- Executing medium- and short‑term tactics in a volatile and competitive butane spot market. Negotiating spot deals on a yearly basis.
- Act as liaison with other business and manufacturing groups within NewCo to ensure that company strategies and directives involving feedstocks are known and met. Communicate market trends to groups within NewCo who need this information to optimize their performance.
- Responsible for and owner of charterparties requested to ship feedstock.

You have excellent communication and strong analytical skills. You are able to make decisive market calls with significant P&L impact in complex, ambiguous feedstock spot and forward markets. You have the ability to quickly comprehend and act within a dynamic energy market, with volatile futures market and changing forward markets.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering Required.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in petrochemical or oil and gas industry preferred, with at least 3 – 8 years commercial experience.
- Trading and risk management experience.
- Ability to understand cracker technology and set up and impact of feedstocks on yields.
- Ability to scan shipping market and charter vessels.
- English required, German and/or French preferred.
