What you do
As Mail Room Supervisor, you manage all unclassified diplomatic pouch and mail operations at the mailroom, and you supervise a team of staff who support all mailroom functions. You are responsible for planning and overseeing all Mail Room operations, to include sorting, distributing, and processing incoming diplomatic pouches, preparing outgoing pouches, and ensuring proper transportation, safeguarding, receipt, and delivery of all DPO (Diplomatic Post Office) mail and unclassified diplomatic pouches. You serve as the primary local liaison with airport authorities, delivery and freight contractors, and other mail handling service providers. You ensure all security standards are met for proper storage and handling of DPO accountable mail, DPM registered, certified and pouch material. You provide guidance to all offices authorized to use DPO and pouch services. You track and are accountable for all funds issued to the mailroom. You ensure all BPA contracts are kept up-to-date and you track and update the mailroom franking machines required for official postage.
What we ask (minimal requirements to apply)
· Completion of high school or local equivalent is required.
· For grade FSN-7: Minimum of two years in external or internal customer service including tasks such as problem solving, mail handling or other related clerical experience is required. In addition, at least one year of experience in a supervisory or team lead role is required.
· For grade FSN-6: Minimum of one year in external or internal customer service including tasks such as problem solving, mail handling or other related clerical experience is required. In addition, at least one year of experience in a supervisory or team lead role is required.
· Level III (good working knowledge) English is required. This may be tested.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license Class B. Must be 25 years of age or older, and must have had a driver's license for a minimum of five years.
· Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds and safely move up to 250 pounds with assistance or mechanical devices.
The position requires physical stamina for lifting and transporting mail, and flexibility to work outside normal business hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends. The role involves strict adherence to security protocols, attention to detail, and the ability to handle stressful and confrontational situations.
All applicants under consideration will be required to pass security certification and may be required to obtain a Certificate of Conduct for Natural Persons (VOG) from the Ministry of Safety and Justice of the Netherlands.
What we offer
· Annual salary of EUR 43,931 – EUR 61,696
· 8.33 % End of year bonus (13th month)
