Your RoleAs a Trader at Thenergy, you’re responsible for independently executing international trade transactions in grains, oilseeds, and feed materials that are not suitable for feed and food. These materials are sold as raw materials for the organic fertilizer, bioenergy and burning industry. You manage the entire process from contract negotiation through to completion, including entering contracts into internal systems, monitoring deliveries together with the logistics department, and supporting accounts receivable control. In this role, you contribute to achieving commercial objectives while building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
Your responsibilities include:
- Independently initiate, negotiate, and conclude international trade contracts within established guidelines.
- Enter and manage concluded contracts in internal systems.
- Monitor the proper execution of contracts and act where necessary.
- Support accounts receivable monitoring and identify payment risks.
- Track market developments and price movements to capitalize on commercial opportunities.
- Build and maintain sustainable relationships with customers, suppliers, and logistics partners.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments such as Finance, Logistics, and Quality to ensure smooth transaction processing.
Most important is that you have a play‑to‑win mentality. To be successful, it is important to be commercially driven and have an entrepreneurial spirit. You can work both independently and with people from all layers within the organization. Furthermore, you are hands‑on, stress‑resilient and analytically strong. In addition, you can identify with the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in (International) Trade, Economics or a related field
- Experience in international commodity trading is a strong advantage
- Experience with feedstocks for the bioenergy or biomass market is a plus
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and a keen sense for commercial opportunities
- An excellent command of Dutch and English (spoken and written)
