Vacaturebeschrijving

Join us and shape the quantum devices of tomorrow!

Job description

The Scappucci Lab welcomes applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to addresses a central challenge of quantum technology with spin qubits: how do the properties of the semiconductor stack affect qubit properties at scale?

Within the Scappucci Lab you will join the QARPET team. QARPET (Qubit-Array Research Platform for Engineering and Testing) is a crossbar-array architecture developed by our group and designed to move from the study of few quantum dots to the statistical characterization and benchmarking of hundreds of qubits in germanium.

Within this project, you will play a leading role in the measurement, characterization, and analysis of germanium hole spin qubits. You will investigate the properties of such devices within novel material stacks and help uncover how material disorder, variability, and imperfections influence key qubit metrics such as coherence, stability, and reproducibility.

You will also have the opportunity to work in a collaborative, international, and interdisciplinary environment, where different perspectives and backgrounds are valued as drivers of scientific innovation.

Requirements

We are seeking not only dedicated future scientists but also individuals who thrive in a team-oriented environment, where passion and commitment go hand in hand.

  • PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience with the measurement and control of solid‑state qubits.
  • Expertise in cryogenic measurements (dilution refrigerators) and microwave control hardware.
  • Strong programming capabilities and large‑scale data analysis.
