To strengthen our In House Assembly department, we are looking for an Assembly Engineer – In House Assembly, based in Wijk bij Duurstede, the Netherlands.
ABOUT THE ROLEAs an Assembly Engineer within In House Assembly (IHA), you are responsible for assembling, testing, and preparing stern tube seal systems for shipment. You work hands‑on with mechanical components, following technical drawings and predefined procedures to ensure each assembly meets our quality standards.
You will work closely with the Product Group Seals (PGS) department and coordinate when needed with Warehouse, Quality Control and Purchase. After a structured training period, you are expected to work independently on standard projects, while always having technical support available from colleagues and PGS.
This role is ideal for someone with a practical, proactive mindset who enjoys working in a technical workshop environment and wants to grow long-term within a specialized maritime organization.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESPick and prepare mechanical components for ongoing assembly projects.
Assemble stern tube seal systems according to technical drawings, work instructions and specific requirements of the project.
Execute predefined test procedures and verify results before shipment.
Identify and report deviations or technical issues, and coordinate with PGS when needed.
Prepare assembled products for shipment, ensuring correct documentation and packaging.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
Contribute to continuous improvement of assembly and testing processes.
Hands‑on mechanical mindset with strong practical skills.
Able to read and understand technical drawings.
Proactive, sharp, and quick‑witted, with a solution-oriented approach.
Comfortable working independently after training, while collaborating within a team.
Willing to learn, develop technical knowledge, and improve continuously.
Good command of English, both spoken and written.
Comfortable working in a standing and physical workshop environment.
Technical education or previous assembly experience is appreciated but not required. Motivation, attitude, and the ability to learn are key.
