Do you know what it takes to keep complex offshore vessels safe, compliant and mission-ready? Can you lead technical upgrades, including sustainability and hybridisation projects, without losing control of schedule, budget or risk?
We are looking for a Technical Superintendent to take full ownership of the technical condition and readiness of assigned vessels. You will plan and control repair and maintenance activities, manage budgets and port calls, lead upgrades and modifications, and ensure ongoing compliance with class, flag and international regulations.
This is a pivotal role where technical judgement, coordination skills and decisiveness impact vessel availability, safety and performance.
Tasks & responsibilities:
- Own the technical readiness of assigned vessels, including repair & maintenance, modifications, port calls and preventive maintenance planning.
- Prepare and manage annual R&M and investments budgets, track costs and approve purchase orders and invoices within authorisation limits.
- Ensure compliance with classification society, flag‑state and IMO requirements, coordinating inspections, surveys and audits.
- Lead technical projects end‑to‑end, such as damage repairs, sustainability or hybridisation upgrades and project preparations, with clear scope, schedule, and risk control.
- Use fleet and data (downtime, inventory, CMMS/asset management) to improve reliability, standardise methods and drive continuous improvement.
- Work closely with vessel crews, shipyards, vendors and internal stakeholders, maintaining accurate technical status reports and vessel inspection documentation.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Maritime Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in a technical role within a maritime or offshore environment (superintendent, shipyard, field engineering experience is a strong plus).
- Solid knowledge of classification society rules, flag‑state requirements and IMO regulations.
- Proven experience managing R&M scopes, budgets, port calls and yard periods.
- Strong coordination, stakeholder management, and decision‑making skills with a hands‑on approach.
- Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing; willing to travel to vessels and shipyards when required.
