About the roleAs BioSimulation Engineer you will work primarily with our Cardiac BioSimulator (introduction video here ), which is a specialized platform developed to evaluate the performance of medical devices that interact with the heart but also to train cardiac surgeons in new procedures. As a Biosimulation Engineer, you will play a key role in assembling, operating, and maintaining this advanced system.
You will:
- Prepare animal and human hearts for testing
- Define, set‑up and execute experiments together with the client
- Acquire and process data and visual material obtained during the experiments
- Troubleshoot technical issues
- Be involved in continuous developments of our simulation platforms
- Have the opportunity to work in a high‑level research and development environment
- Be involved in state of the art and cutting‑edge research and development in the cardiovascular field
- Connect and work with a wide range of companies and institutes in the cardiovascular field
These activities will take place both at our lab in Eindhoven and on‑site at exhibitions, hospitals, and international locations. You will work closely with a team of R&D Engineers and engage directly with clients, making strong communication skills essential.
This is a hands‑on, dynamic role at the intersection of biomedical engineering, clinical training, and innovation, which is ideal for someone who thrives in a high‑tech, collaborative environment.
About youGiven the complexity of the CBS and the international environment we are operating in, we are looking for a BioSimulation Engineer with:
- a professional and intellectual ability at BSc or MSc level
- a background in (bio)medical or mechanical engineering
- affinity with working with biological materials (tissue, organs, blood)
- relevant work experience (is a plus)
- willingness to travel up to 30% of the time to customer sites and exhibitions
- a curious, proactive and precise working style
- ability to plan and work independently
- a flexible mindset and resilience under pressure
- a team‑oriented attitude
