Job Description: Quality Engineer
Location: Amsterdam, North Holland
Hours: 40 hours per week

About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to oversee mechanical works on a major construction site in Amsterdam. In this versatile and critical role, you will serve as the primary supervisor for all mechanical construction activities, ensuring contractors deliver work safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
You will act as a central coordinator for quality assurance, documentation management, and regulatory compliance—spanning the entire project chain from component manufacturing and delivery to final construction and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities Site Supervision & Quality Assurance- Supervise all mechanical work on the construction site, ensuring compliance with contract specifications, permits, and applicable legislation
- Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
- Attend pre-inspection meetings and witness critical testing activities
- Coordinate the deployment of specialized inspection personnel as required
- Oversee quality control throughout the supply chain: manufacturing, delivery, installation, and final construction
- Manage complete project documentation lifecycle, ensuring all protocols and reports are complete, accurate, and available prior to commissioning
- Serve as supervisor for external certifications and regulatory inspections
- Coordinate with authorities including fire brigade, municipal bodies, and certification entities for CE, ATEX, and Inspection before Commissioning (KVI)
- Partner closely with the HSE Manager to maintain exemplary safety and health standards, leading by example at all times
- Monitor construction planning and proactively advise the Site Manager on schedule optimization
- Provide expert input to Site Manager, Project Manager, and Contract Manager regarding claims and additional work assignments
- Report directly to the Site Manager and serve as primary point of contact and deputy in their absence
Education: Completed HBO (Bachelor) degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: Minimum 5 years demonstrable experience as Quality Manager and/or Construction Manager in industrial construction; energy or chemical sector experience preferred
Languages: Fluent in both Dutch and English
