Responsibilities:
- Coordinating Site Development Plans per site, including agreed improvement plans between site teams and supporting functions (IT, Finance, Account Development, Operations Excellence, etc.);
- Rolling out and managing strategic Operations Excellence programs such as Operations Basics, First Choice, OMS (Operating Management System) and innovation through the Site Development Plans;
- Supporting sites in improving their KPIs, consolidated in various dashboards;
- Together with the Continuous Improvement team and Logistic Engineers, developing and implementing roadmaps around continuous improvement, automation, and innovation;
- Active support in renewals and new customer bids;
- Sharing and implementing best practices within and outside your region;
- Supporting and acting as an OMS ambassador during OMS implementations;
- Supporting sites in LPMC trajectories (Low Performing Margin Contracts) and following up on improvement actions;
- Monitoring and challenging productivity targets;
- Supporting Account Development Managers (ADM) in renewals, setting up customer development roadmaps, customer improvements, and smaller bids;
- Performing structured Gemba walks to evaluate operational performance, standardization, and the maturity level of programs
Positioning & scope
- Reports to the Head of Site Development (Line Manager);
- Member of the Benelux Operations Excellence Management Team;
- Dotted-line member of the Business Unit Management Team;
- Hierarchical responsibility for 4 direct reports (2 subject-matter experts and 2 Logistic Engineers);
- Part of a team of 5 Site Development Managers;
- Responsible for 6 sites:
- o Belgium: Bornem, Mechelen, Boortmeerbeek, Brussels (Beersel)
- o Netherlands: Oud-Gastel, Bergen op Zoom
- The scope also includes several Life Science & Healthcare sites (notably Brussels and Boortmeerbeek), which form a highly regulated and specialized part of the portfolio, with a strong focus on quality and compliance.
- A strong, self-confident personality who can challenge and hold their ground in discussions with experienced General Managers;
- Must-have: strong operational background (e.g. Operations Manager) to ensure credibility on the shop floor;
- Experience within a Life Science & Healthcare environment is considered a strong asset, given the specific quality and compliance requirements within part of the site portfolio;
- Extensive experience in leadership roles within Logistics Operations, Site Management, or Continuous Improvement;
- Experience with engineering and analytical tools (such as cost modelling, value stream mapping, work study methodologies);
- In-depth knowledge of Lean methodology and continuous improvement;
- Strong skills in stakeholder management, influencing, negotiation, and project management;
- Languages: fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written;
- Willingness to travel within Belgium and the Netherlands; residence in Belgium is a plus but not a requirement
