About DemconDemcon Multiphysics, as an independent part of the Demcon group, is a high-level mechanical and process engineering company in the field of physical problems. We study heat transfer, fluid dynamics, mechanics, electromagnetism, acoustics and particle physics, always to solve a concrete engineering problem. With a team of about 15 people spread across the Enschede and Best sites, we offer innovative solutions in the design, development and improvement of processes and devices in which physical processes play an important role. We use various tools (analytical, numerical, experimental) to further develop a concept design.
What are you going to do?As a physicist, you are involved in a wide variety of technical projects. In which you engineer at the limit of what is still possible. Think of projects in which you are involved in subjects such as superconductors, modelling ISFET, plasma physics, ion transport, etc.
From your broad technical base, it is your job to recognise technical risks and think of ways to solve them. The challenge is different on every project and typically you work on Multiphysics problems. So you are expected to be able to combine your knowledge of electromagnetism, fluid dynamics & heat transfer, classical mechanics, optics and particle physics to move projects forward. With your technical knowledge, you inspire and convince your colleagues and act as a source of questions within the department and the projects.
You are involved in substantive brainstorms, estimates of hours in quotation processes and may present your advice to clients and project members.
What do you bring to the table?- You have a master degree or PhD in Applied Physics and at least 3 years of work experience in a high-tech environment;
- Simulation experience with one or more of the following software packages: Comsol Multiphysics, Star-ccm+ or Ansys;
- You are pragmatic, entrepreneurial and creative, recognise and translate technical problems or new technical developments into possible projects and solutions.
