Role DescriptionAs an Electrical Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, engineering, and supporting electrical equipment, test boxes, and test systems. You will lead multidisciplinary projects (Electrical, Mechanical, and Software), ensuring execution according to specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This role combines technical leadership, hands‑on engineering, project ownership, and close collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders in a regulated industrial environment.
Responsibilities- Designing, engineering, documenting, and improving new and existing electrical appliances, test boxes, and test systems.
- Leading projects, monitoring execution, progress, and costs across multidisciplinary teams (E, M, and Software).
- Managing engineers during assembly and installation activities and performing hands‑on work when required.
- Creating electrical drawings and schematics (assembly and single‑line diagrams), bills of materials, and technical documentation.
- Ensuring accurate technical product documentation and archiving of project data.
- Translating customer requirements into feasible technical and financial specifications.
- Defining functional, safety, ergonomic, and regulatory requirements within project specifications.
- Creating project budgets and planning upon request.
- Reporting project progress to customers and providing clear insight into ongoing and remaining work.
- Taking responsibility for project aftercare, maintenance instructions, and lifecycle support.
- Defining maintenance intervals and determining required spare parts inventory.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for electrical safety.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
- 4–8 years of experience in equipment development and/or production environments for industrial products.
- Experience with LabVIEW and/or Python (mandatory).
- Strong project management skills.
- Native‑level Dutch and fluent English, spoken and written.
- Proven customer focus with a strong drive for quality and reliability.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to handle complex technical challenges.
- Excellent documentation skills in regulated environments.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards, including NEN 3140, Machinery Directive, Low Voltage Directive, ISO 13849, ISO 12100, IEC 60825.
This role offers a high degree of independence and technical ownership, with opportunities to further develop expertise in equipment design. The work is primarily on‑site, closely supporting manufacturing operations in a dynamic and regulated environment.
